This 3-day pre-cruise extension introduces you to Galzignano Terme, at the heart of Europe's largest thermal spa area in the Euganean Hills. Quiet cycle paths link villas, castles and hilltop villages before a short transfer delivers you to Venice, where you board the Ave Maria Italia or the Ave Maria Portegrandi to begin the Waterways of Venice cruise.
The riding is gentle and mostly flat, taking in Catajo Castle, the Air Museum at San Pelagio, and the historic town walls of Monselice, with a wine and olive oil tasting in the hilltop village of Arquà Petrarca and a detour to the labyrinth gardens of Villa Barbarigo.

A gentle loop through the Euganean Hills Regional Park, riding past Catajo Castle towards Montegrotto Terme, and on to the Castle of San Pelagio, home to an air museum tracing the history of flight from Leonardo da Vinci to Neil Armstrong. A canal-side path leads to the historic walls of Monselice, before a wine and olive oil tasting awaits in the hilltop village of Arquà Petrarca. On the way back, a detour to the gardens of Villa Barbarigo in Valsanzibio — one of Italy's finest classical gardens, complete with a boxwood labyrinth.
