A family-friendly, centre-based cycling holiday from the spa resort of Galzignano Terme, deep in the Euganean Hills Natural Park - Europe's largest thermal spa area. Easy loop rides visit medieval villages, castles and villa gardens, with the resort's own thermal pools to relax in between.

Individual arrival and overnight at the spa resort of Galzignano Terme, in the heart of the Euganean Hills Natural Park.
Ride through Monselice to the medieval village of Arqua Petrarca, with an easy trek to the viewpoint at Mottolone, a wine and oil tasting, and a visit to the gardens of Villa Barbarigo.
Visit the Museum of River Navigation in Battaglia Terme and the Air Museum at the Castle of San Pelagio, finishing with a visit to Catajo Castle and its frescoed halls.
A longer optional loop around the whole chain of the Euganean Hills, through woods, abbeys and small towns - or simply enjoy a day at the spa resort.
Visit the 16th-century Villa dei Vescovi and its gardens, with an easy trek on the Terre Bianche path, before visiting the Benedictine Abbey of Praglia.

Getting to Galzignano Terme
By plane: Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) is the most practical, with direct flights from most UK airports with British Airways, easyJet and others. From the airport, a bus or the Alilaguna waterbus reaches Venice Mestre, from where it's around a 30-40 minute onward transfer or train-and-taxi combination to Galzignano Terme, in the Euganean Hills south of Padua. Treviso Airport (TSF) is a similarly practical alternative, connected to Padua by the FSBusitalia/MOM bus line.
By train: The nearest station is Padua, on the main Milan-Venice line, around a 20-25 minute taxi transfer from Galzignano Terme (there is no direct rail line into the resort itself).
Getting home from Galzignano Terme
By plane: as this is a centre-based holiday, the return journey retraces the outbound route back to Venice Marco Polo or Treviso airport via Padua.
