Tour Highlights
Great for active riders ready for rolling hills and longer days in the saddle—offering both challenge and beautiful scenery.
Arrive in the vibrant cultural capital of Salzburg. Stroll the old town’s winding lanes, visit Mozart’s birthplace, or relax in a traditional café with a slice of Sachertorte.
Cycle south along the Salzach River through lush lowlands to the historic town of Hallein, once a prosperous Celtic settlement. Continue on to Golling, home to a charming 13th-century fortress and impressive waterfall.
Climb gently over Pass Lueg with spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. Ride through the dramatic Salzachöfen Gorge and pass the medieval Hohenwerfen Castle before arriving in St. Johann with its striking twin-spired cathedral.
Follow the Gastein Valley via charming villages and spa towns to Bad Gastein, nestled at the foot of the Hohe Tauern. From Böckstein, take the Tauern train through the mountains to Mallnitz, then coast downhill into the scenic Mölltal Valley.
Enjoy a peaceful ride along the River Möll through spectacular mountain landscapes. Enter the Drau Valley at Möllbrücke and continue to the historic town of Spittal an der Drau, known for its Renaissance architecture and pilgrimage history.
A gentle downhill ride follows the River Drau past charming villages like Paternion, with its notable churches and palaces. Your journey ends in Villach, a lively town with Mediterranean flair and excellent local cuisine.
After breakfast, depart at your leisure or extend your stay in Villach to explore more of Austria’s sunny south.
Flights are not included with this holiday, but we recommend flying to Salzburg and returning from Salzburg.
