The route is largely flat with a few short climbs and follows bike paths or low-traffic country roads. Some care is needed when entering or leaving larger towns like Verona. The first day includes the longest ride, though it can be shortened by train. This tour is ideal for travellers short on time but big on adventure.
Welcome to Bolzano, South Tyrol’s bilingual capital at the foot of the Dolomites. Explore the bustling old town, visit the Archaeological Museum to see Ötzi the Iceman, or delve into cutting-edge exhibitions at the Museion.
Begin your ride along the Adige River bike path, surrounded by South Tyrol’s renowned vineyards. Choose between a flat riverside route or a scenic hilly variant via Lake Kaltern. Finish in Trento, a historic alpine city guarded by the Buonconsiglio Castle.
Optional: Shorten via train from Ora, Egna, Salorno, Mezzocorona, or Grumo-San Michele
Cycle through Rovereto, known for its contemporary art scene, and ascend gently to Passo di San Giovanni. From here, enjoy a thrilling descent to Lake Garda and ferry south from Riva to Peschiera, soaking in lakeside views along the way.
