Description

This gentle Burgundy break brings you into the world of Beaune, the proud capital of Burgundy wines, and Vougeot, home to the iconic Clos de Vougeot.

You’ll meet the region’s essentials at a relaxed pace. Think Hospices de Beaune. Clos de Vougeot. Rows of vines that seem to stretch on forever. And in between, lighthearted stops that bring the area’s flavours to life, like the last family-run mustard mill or a small red-fruit farm where blackcurrants, raspberries and blackberries become liqueurs, jams and sweet little discoveries.

It’s a short escape, but it lingers with you for a long time.

How to get there

Getting to Paris

By plane: Fly into Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) or Paris Orly (ORY). CDG is the main international hub, with frequent direct flights from across the UK and Ireland. The RER B train runs every 10 minutes from CDG to central Paris, reaching Gare du Nord in around 30 minutes. From Paris, Beaune is a further 2 hours 10 minutes by TGV from Gare de Lyon (change at Dijon).

By train: Take the Eurostar from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord in around 2 hours 20 minutes, then connect to your onward destination. Paris is a major TGV hub with fast connections to Beaune, Dijon, Lyon, the Loire Valley and beyond. Booking the whole journey in advance through Eurostar or SNCF Connect is the smoothest option.

By car: Paris is around 3.5 hours from Calais via the A26/A1 motorway. It's worth arriving the day before to avoid navigating the city before your tour starts, as Parisian traffic can add significant time. From Paris, Beaune is a 3-hour drive south on the A6.
