This route makes a genuine circuit of the Dreiländereck, the three-border corner where France, Germany and Switzerland meet, from Freiburg down through Colmar and Mulhouse to the Basel agglomeration and back.
It's a considered introduction to a part of Europe that rarely gets a whole week to itself - easy riding, three distinct cultures, and plenty of good food and wine along the way.

Cross the Rhine at Breisach and visit Neuf-Brisach before reaching Colmar.
Ride the Wine Route through Turckheim, Eguisheim and Rouffach, and visit Murbach Abbey.
Visit the Écomusée d'Alsace open-air village at Ungersheim en route to Mulhouse and its automobile museum.
Follow the Rhone-to-Rhine canal through the Sundgau region to the tri-national Basel agglomeration.
Ride north along the Rhine through the wine region to Müllheim, with an optional visit to Badenweiler.
Visit Bad Krozingen spa village en route back to Freiburg. Departure or extension of the stay.

By train: direct services to Freiburg station. By plane: Basel/Mulhouse (~120km), with a taxi or shuttle onward. By car: indoor watched parking near the hotels, approx. €15/day.
