Guided cycling holiday
Dalmatia, Croatia
Experience the beauty of Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast on this unique cycling holiday by e-bike and luxury yacht. From the thundering waterfalls of Krka to the quiet islands of Dugi Otok and Pašman, this week-long journey takes you through national parks, historic coastal towns and peaceful island landscapes.
With a luxury motor yacht as your floating home, you’ll cruise between destinations while enjoying guided e-bike rides on land. This is an ideal tour for cyclists who want to balance activity with relaxation. Each day brings a new ride, often through peaceful, traffic-free routes, along with time to swim, unwind, and explore.
The tour visits famous Croatian highlights such as Šibenik, Zadar, and Trogir, as well as hidden bays, remote villages and beautiful viewpoints. The ships Magellan or Princeza Diana offer comfortable cabins with en-suite facilities, spacious lounges and sun decks to enjoy the Adriatic scenery in style.
This tour is designed for e-bikes, though experienced riders with a good fitness level may join on standard bikes. Daily distances range from 17 to 31 miles, mostly on hilly terrain.
A comfortable mix of flat paths and light hills. Great for riders wanting a scenic, flexible trip without too much effort.
Upon your individual arrival in Trogir, either by car or via Split Airport (which is located just under 4 miles or 6 kilometres from the harbour), you'll be welcomed aboard the motor yacht between 2:00 and 2:30 pm. Once everyone is checked in and comfortably settled, the boat departs at around 3:00 pm. Your journey officially begins with a relaxing cruise towards the village of Rogoznica. This charming spot sits partly on a small island that's linked to the mainland by a causeway, offering a serene introduction to the Dalmatian coast.
Before reaching Rogoznica, there is an opportunity to stop and enjoy a refreshing swim directly from the boat, the perfect way to unwind after your travels. As the sun begins to set, you'll dock in Rogoznica and enjoy your first onboard dinner. The peaceful harbour setting and the gentle lapping of the sea create the perfect atmosphere for your first night on the boat. It's a calm and scenic introduction to the region and an ideal moment to start getting to know your fellow travellers.
Your day begins with a leisurely morning cruise to Vodice, a popular seaside town known for its bustling marina and beautiful coastline. After breakfast, you’ll disembark and begin your cycling journey. The route takes you over the bridge connecting the mainland to the island of Murter. As you ride through the landscape, you’ll pass quaint villages, coastal paths, and views of the Adriatic Sea that seem to stretch endlessly. The route finishes in Slanica, located in the northwest part of the island. Here, the boat awaits your arrival.
Once back on board, the cruise continues through the breathtaking Kornati National Park. This archipelago of over 100 islands is famous for its raw beauty, dramatic cliffs, and remarkably clear water. It’s a paradise for nature lovers and marine life enthusiasts. Your destination is Telašćica Bay, located within the protected Telašćica Nature Park. In the late afternoon, there’s an optional hike to the top of the white cliffs, offering unforgettable views over the sea. The boat remains anchored in the peaceful bay overnight, and you can spend your evening swimming off the back of the boat or simply relaxing under the stars.
After breakfast, you’ll start cycling through Dugi Otok, one of the most scenic islands along the Dalmatian coast. This route is particularly tranquil as the roads are mostly free of cars, giving you space to enjoy the surroundings. The trail leads from Telašćica Nature Park to the bay of Božava, passing through aromatic pine forests and coastal paths lined with tamarisks and agave plants. Along the way, you’ll encounter panoramic viewpoints where the deep blue of the Adriatic Sea contrasts with the bright green of the island's vegetation.
Once you arrive in Božava, the boat will take you across to Zadar, a historic city that served as the cultural and political heart of Dalmatia for centuries. Upon arrival, a guided walking tour is available. You’ll explore winding alleys, Roman ruins, and landmarks like the Sea Organ and the Church of St. Donatus. With a rich history that spans over 3,000 years, Zadar offers the perfect blend of ancient charm and modern vibrancy. You'll spend the night in Zadar, allowing time to enjoy dinner ashore or simply relax on the deck of the boat.
We begin today with a cruise to the island of Ugljan, arriving at the port of Preko. This is the start of our cycling route, which takes us across the bridge to the island of Pašman. The ride hugs the coast and offers spectacular views of the mainland across the water. Along the way, you’ll pass olive groves, fishing villages, and quiet coves, perfect spots for a short break or a quick photo.
This ride is gentle and very enjoyable, offering a good mix of natural beauty and insight into local island life. Once we arrive in Tkon, we rejoin the boat and cruise to Vodice, a bustling resort town on the mainland. You’ll have time in the evening to stroll the promenade, perhaps enjoy a drink at a seaside café, or just relax aboard. The yacht docks here for the night.
(For 2026 tours, the boat sails to Šibenik instead of Vodice, offering a similar overnight experience in another historic town.)
This day is a real highlight. In the morning, the ship departs Šibenik and cruises inland along the Krka River to Skradin, nestled at the gateway to Krka National Park. From here, your bike tour leads through quiet inland routes, passing vineyards, fig trees, and rustic stone hamlets. The ride is scenic and peaceful, showcasing a more rural side of Croatia.
Once back in Skradin, a short boat ride brings you into the heart of Krka National Park. Here, you’ll have time to explore the spectacular Krka Waterfalls on foot. These falls are some of the most beautiful in Europe, with multiple cascades pouring into turquoise pools surrounded by lush vegetation. Wooden boardwalks and trails guide you through this magical setting, with swimming allowed in designated areas depending on current park regulations.
The evening is spent back in the charming town of Skradin, where you can enjoy dinner in one of the cosy waterfront restaurants or simply unwind on board the ship.
This morning begins with a relaxed breakfast on board as you sail back toward the Adriatic coast. Once docked at a nearby harbour, you’ll set out on today’s bike ride through a gently rolling landscape shaped by centuries of agriculture and tradition. The route takes you inland through quiet backroads, offering glimpses of olive groves, stone fences, and ancient dry-stone walls. It’s a peaceful, pastoral ride that shows you a different, more tranquil face of Dalmatia.
As you approach the coastal town of Primošten, you’ll notice its postcard-perfect peninsula jutting into the sea, lined with traditional terracotta-roofed houses. Upon arrival, you’ll have time to wander its narrow streets, enjoy a swim from the pebbled beach, or relax with a drink at a seaside café. This small town is also known for its local Babić wine, so wine lovers might consider sampling a glass or two.
In the evening, enjoy dinner on board or head into town to savour some fresh seafood or local pasta dishes. The ship remains docked in Primošten overnight, allowing you to enjoy the quiet evening atmosphere and views of the sunset over the bay.
On your final full day of cycling, you’ll set off from Primošten and pedal inland through the rolling countryside toward the town of Marina. This route showcases some of Croatia’s most scenic inland routes—olive groves, lavender fields, vineyards, and stone villages are all part of today’s journey. Though the terrain is more undulating, the stunning views and quiet roads make the effort worthwhile.
Once in Marina, you’ll enjoy a final break before cycling the last leg along the coast toward Trogir. The return ride offers panoramic views of the Adriatic and passes through small fishing villages before arriving at the historic town where your journey began.
Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Croatia’s most beautiful and best-preserved medieval towns. Its Romanesque and Renaissance buildings, winding alleys, and vibrant harbour provide a fitting final stop. In the evening, the group gathers for a farewell dinner on board, where you can share memories and raise a toast to the week’s adventures.
After breakfast on board, it's time to say goodbye to your crew, guides, and fellow travellers. Check-out typically takes place by 9:00 am. Whether you're continuing your Croatian holiday or heading to the airport, Trogir’s charm makes for a pleasant final stroll before departure.
With your legs stronger, your camera full, and your heart lighter, you’ll leave with unforgettable memories of Croatia’s coast, culture, and cuisine.
Flights are not included with this holiday, but we recommend flying to Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport (ZAG) and returning from Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport (ZAG).
The Magellan is an elegant two-masted motor yacht that remains pleasantly steady even when sailing through heavier swells. On board you will find 18 spacious guest cabins (10 – 12 sqm); seven cabins are below deck and eleven cabins above deck. All are equipped with air-conditioning, shower cabin, toilet and hairdryer. The beautifully furnished saloon and bar as well as the covered aft deck are fitted out with comfortable seating areas. On the spacious sun deck, you will find deckchairs, enticing you to lie back, relax and enjoy the warm sea breeze. Delicious cuisine is particularly important on the Magellan: The ship’s owner is a member of the cooking academy for traditional Dalmatian cuisine
