Overview

Explore the cultural crossroads of Europe and North Africa on this evocative cycling journey through Andalusia, Spain’s southernmost region. From ancient Roman roads to olive grove-lined railway paths, this tour combines vibrant Moorish heritage, medieval towns, and timeless traditions - all under the Andalusian sun.

Your route links some of Spain’s most iconic cities - Córdoba with its magnificent Mezquita, Seville with its flamenco soul—with whitewashed villages, olive oil heartlands, and a romantic rhythm that runs from bull ranches to baroque towns. Sample tapas and red wine in rustic taverns, relax in converted monasteries, and immerse yourself in a landscape shaped by centuries of conquest, faith, and fiesta.

Highlights

  • Cycle through the world’s largest olive oil region on scenic rail trails
  • Marvel at the Mezquita of Córdoba, a masterpiece of Moorish architecture
  • Stay in heritage-rich towns like Lucena, Carmona, and Palma del Río
  • Ride past traditional haciendas and bull-breeding farms
  • Explore Seville, where flamenco, Gothic spires, and modern art meet
  • Savor local wine, olive oil, and tapas in authentic Andalucían style

How to get there

Getting to the start (Málaga)

By plane: Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) is one of the busiest airports in Spain, with direct flights from virtually every UK airport on easyJet, Ryanair, British Airways, Jet2, TUI and others. Flight time from London is around 2 hours 30 minutes. The airport is 8km from Málaga city centre, served by the C-1 Renfe Cercanías train (12 minutes to Málaga Centro-Alameda) and taxis.

By train: Málaga María Zambrano station has AVE high-speed connections to Madrid (around 2 hours 30 minutes) and Cordoba (around 1 hour), making a train arrival from Madrid or a broader Spanish trip easy to combine.

Getting home from the tour (Seville)

By plane: Seville San Pablo Airport (SVQ) has direct flights to UK airports with easyJet from London Gatwick, Ryanair from London Stansted, and Vueling and British Airways from Heathrow. Flight time is around 2 hours 30 minutes. The airport is 10km from the city centre, with an Aer Bus shuttle to the centre in around 35 minutes.

By car: The drive between Málaga and Seville is around 2 hours on the A-45 and A-92 motorways, making a one-way hire car a practical and flexible option for this tour.
