Copenhagen has more bikes than people and nearly 400 km of dedicated lanes — including the Cykelslangen, the “Cycle Snake” bridge that carries riders over the harbour. Our Øresund tour starts and ends here: ride the wide, separated lanes past Amalienborg and the Little Mermaid, then follow the coast north towards Kronborg — Hamlet’s Elsinore — before the boat crosses to Sweden.
The terrain is flat and smooth, ideal for relaxed riding. Summer (June to August) is the warmest time, with long daylight hours and average highs around 21°C (70°F). Spring and early autumn are cooler but pleasant for cycling. Light wind is common, so layers help.
