How to get there

Getting to Ljubljana (start and end of tour)

By plane: Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU) has direct flights from London Heathrow with British Airways and from London Gatwick with easyJet. Ryanair also serves Ljubljana from several UK airports. The airport is 26km from the city centre, with an hourly airport bus to the city taking around 50 minutes.

By train: Ljubljana has rail connections to Vienna (around 6 hours), Venice (around 3.5 hours), Salzburg (around 4 hours) and Zagreb (around 2 hours), making it a natural hub for a longer Central European or wine-country trip.

By car: Ljubljana is around 1,400km from Calais, taking approximately 12 to 13 hours. Having a car is genuinely useful in Slovenia's wine country, where the best producers are often down narrow rural roads.
