A guided cycling tour through the best of Puglia’s Salento peninsula, led by an English-speaking tour leader. Ride the same spectacular coastal loop as our self-guided tour — Lecce, Gallipoli, Santa Maria di Leuca, the dramatic coast road and Otranto — but with the added pleasure of a group, daily briefings, included dinners, and hands-on experiences: a pasta-making class, a wine tasting and a guided walking tour of Baroque Lecce.
Accommodation is in 4* hotels and one night in a traditional Salento masseria. The terrain is gentle, almost entirely on paved, low-traffic roads, with wonderful stretches of coastline.
Arrive in Lecce, the Baroque capital of Salento. Explore the golden limestone churches and palaces, sample the local pasticciotto pastry, and meet your fellow riders and tour leader at the welcome briefing.
Ride south-west through the flat Salento countryside via Copertino and Nardò, with its elegant Piazza Salandra, to the Ionian coast and the island old town of Gallipoli.
A full day along the coast through pines, myrtle and long golden beaches to the very tip of the heel at Santa Maria di Leuca, where the two seas meet.
Ride the spectacular coast road past the Fiordo del Ciolo, the cove of Acquaviva and the natural pools of Marina Serra to the authentic village of Vignacastrisi, where a hands-on pasta-making class rounds off the day.
Continue north along coast road 358 past the ancient thermal springs of Santa Cesarea Terme and Porto Badisco to the cathedral city of Otranto. A wine tasting awaits before reaching Torre Saracena for the night.
The easiest day — flat along the coast then gently inland to Lecce, with time for a last swim. Back in the city, a guided walking tour reveals the Baroque treasures of the historic centre before a farewell dinner.
A final stroll through the old town, one last coffee in a sunlit piazza, and farewell to Salento.
We recommend flying to Brindisi Airport (BDS) and returning from Brindisi Airport (BDS).

Getting to Lecce (start and end of tour)
By plane: The nearest airport is Brindisi (BDS), about 40 minutes from Lecce by road or bus, with connections across Europe. The larger alternative is Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (BRI), about 1.5–2 hours from Lecce by car or direct train, with wider international connections. Airport transfers to Lecce can be booked through us as an extra.
By train: Lecce is the terminus of the main Adriatic rail line, with direct and high-speed trains from Bari (about 1.5 hours), Rome (about 5 hours) and Bologna. The station is a short walk from the historic centre.
By car: Lecce is reached via the A14 Adriatic motorway (exit Bari Nord) then the SS16 or the newer E55 superstrada, about 1.5 hours from Bari. As the tour begins and ends in Lecce, a car left here is easy to collect at the end.
